My new husband, Zach and I would like to thank Ivana and the Promessi team for all their hard work in making our vision come to life. On my fathers side we have Croatian roots, from a small city called Crikvenica, my Grandmother Ivana was born there before they moved to Africa and Zach and I had our first ever holiday together as a couple in Split (at Ultra fest 😉 so Croatia seemed fitting when we chose a location for our destination wedding.
The initial thought of planning a wedding with little time off work, living abroad and in a foreign speaking country was terribly daunting. After 1.5years of planning via Zoom, we finally met Ivana when Zach & I went out to Split in April to view the venue & do our food tastings and we left feeling very at ease, confident that it would be our dream wedding from start to finish.
We had guests from our home countries of Zimbabwe & South Africa, friends from London where we now live as well as Dubai, Doha and Australia come over to Croatia for the big day and everyone was blown away by the gorgeous set up they had created and couldn’t compliment us or Ivana enough.
We had a three day celebration (two events arranged by Promessi) starting with pre-wedding cocktail evening at Roof 68 to get festivities started and then the big day itself with very unpredictable weather and many moving parts but they just made it all go like clock work.
Ivana was certainly my rock for the 18 months we spent planning and I will miss speaking to her weekly, by the end she became a friend.

Zach and I had the most perfect wedding day, it was more magical than we could have ever imagined down to the last detail. I feel blessed to have met Ivana and look forward to one day hopefully joining her mentor programme and you never know maybe even joining her Promessi team 😉.

Ivana was our planner and she truly exceeded our expectations on so many levels. First of all, I am a Croatian that has lived in the United States my entire life. Wow where do I start! From the moment I started working with Ivana and her team we became friends rather than clients. Ivana is so professional and quick to respond, I live in Sydney so I thought the time difference would make it tricky to communicate, however as soon as the day started on the other side of the world I would always get a response first thing. Ivana’s communication is clear and I genuinely trusted her advice every time. We worked together choosing the right suppliers and she helped to negotiate better rates with them. I’ve never been to Croatia, so at first I was a little anxious about planning a wedding there (especially from Australia) but Ivana took away all the stress and anxiety and sent me lots of pictures and connected me with the suppliers on instagram making it really easy to choose my style and theme. Ivana and her team made our day perfect, nothing went wrong, she was there throughout the day from the moment I was dressed to the end of the day, she took care of everything! Her vision and knowledge of Croatian venues made the day seamless, she is aware what looks good and what works, something I could never do. Her relationships with the suppliers was priceless, she worked so hard to make our day beyond amazing and I genuinely miss our weekly chats. She became part of our wedding and I saw her as a friend on the day. I would highly recommend Ivana and her team to anyone planning a wedding in Croatia. We got married in Hvar and Ivana and her team helped my whole wedding party book their transfer boats, recommended accommodation and organised my hen do, the list of help we received is endless. Why did we choose Promessi team among all wedding planers in Croatia on the Internet?
The reasons were clear: creativity, availability, organisational skills and transparency. During the 2011, we send many e-mails and the way Ivana answered just felt right. She made a very valuable point by insisting on meeting in person (or at least via Skype) which helped a lot in finding best solutions for different details about our ‘big day’. Ivana explained that a wedding planner becomes ‘our best friend’ for the next few months, and therefore it is crucial for the success of wedding that we feel comfortable with each other. The fact that we were informed about all details at every stage of the planning process was also very reassuring.
